Getting Involved

Being involved on campus and in your community is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, build relationships, serve others, and gain clinical experience.  Appalachian students have a wealth of resources on campus to help facilitate engagement and get students connected.  There are plenty of opportunities for students to be involved off-campus as well, such as volunteering and clinical or non-clinical employment.  A majority of students will seek out shadowing or observation experiences in their field of interest both in Boone and in their hometown communities.  In summer, when much of campus activity is paused,  pre-health professional students have ample opportunities to enrich their development and preparation, from test prep to research to summer exploration programs.  Click on the links below to begin your exploration for opportunities.  HPA advisors can also assist you in finding opportunities that may be just right for your interests and goals.
