A number of student arriving at Appalachian consider themselves as pre-med. When most of us think about physicians, we often do not realize that there are several different training opportunities. We are most familiar with MD-prepared, or allopathic, physicians, particularly in the Southeast. However, individuals may choose to pursue osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, or naturopathic medicine.
